The Sails luminaire design is inspired by the atmosphere of the sea, the movement of sailing ships and the sense of freedom that comes with sailing. This inspiration is reflected in every element of the composition. The crystal components, shaped by hand, recall sails and ocean waves, while the metal elements symbolise the wind that fills the sails and sets the water in motion. Together they capture the dynamics of sailing and the atmosphere of a moment spent at sea.
The crystal components are made by experienced master glassmakers. Their final look is completed by traditional glassmaking techniques such as colour mist, soda and cutting.
Sails is available in the colour variants Matte Crystal with Gold Mica, Steel Blue Mist + Crystal Soda and Middle Blue + Crystal Soda. The crystal is complemented by metal parts in a Matte Bronze finish.
The luminaire is lit by external spotlights that highlight the shape, structure and sculptural quality of the glass. The individual elements can also be arranged into different compositions and adapted to a specific space.
Sails is best suited to spacious, prestigious interiors, seaside residences and hotels, where its lightness, dynamism and inspiration from the sea stand out most.
